Etching on India laid paper, signed and dated in the plate "George Hayter Inv. sculp. 1827 Florence", 10 x 7 3/4", 1827. Sir George Hayter was Court Portrait Painter to Queen Victoria and especially noted for his large canvases of classical subjects. His etchings are important contributions to Victorian printmaking.
