Browne, Hablot K. "Phiz" (1815-1882)

“Hark halloa! back!”

Watercolor and pencil, signed "Phiz" lower right and captioned as title. 7 x 10-1/4 inches, c1870. Browne was a noted illustrator of Dickens and of sporting subjects, many of which were engraved in Punch. The present work was probably done about 1870.
