(American Cut-out)

A fine example of the American cut-out showing a young girl, seated, sipping from a bowl with a steaming cup at the side

4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches (sheet size), N. P. [American]: ca. 1850's. The pencilled design very skilfully cut out showing details of her hair and dress, the hands are quite finely done. Some light soiling, a few small tears in the cut out but generally a very good example of this delicate art.
