Connett III fishing at Henryville on Paradise Creek. This picture was painted by William Broadhead English artist while John Frost looked on." And a note below in his hand "This picture to go to Eugene V. Connett IV." William Smithson Broadhead (1888-1960) was an English artist chiefly known for his equestrian and sporting portraits and for his illustrations for the slick periodicals. He lived in the U.S. from 1934 to 1938, and returned to the States in 1947, eventually settling in Middleburg. Virginia Provenance: Eugene V. Connett, 3rd; his son, Eugene V. Connett IV. .
